Essential oils for Valentine's Day
Setting a romantic atmosphere for Valentine's Day is a sure way to create memorable moments. The right ambiance includes the perfect location, pleasant music, and unforgettable aromas. Don't leave all these details to chance! It is well known that scents can have a major impact on our emotions. Our nasal passages are connected to two brain areas strongly involved in emotions and memory: the amygdala and the hippocampus. But we don't need science to tell us that smells can make or break an atmosphere. Create the perfect ambiance using essential oils, one of the most incredible tools to beautifully end a perfect evening.
A pleasant scent for two
First, you need to choose the right fragrance. While fragrance appreciation is personal, NOW® has created the Love at First Scent kit which includes four popular romantic essences to promote love anytime, anywhere. The first bottle is a blend called Naturally Lovable Essential Oil Blend which contains lemon oil, orange oil, a sandalwood blend, a jasmine blend, and ylang-ylang oil. The kit also includes a bottle of warm and spicy cinnamon oil, a bottle of romantic Rose Absolute oil, and a bottle of sweet and fruity bergamot oil.
Spread the love
There are many fun and creative ways to seduce your partner through pleasant fragrances. You can keep it simple by using a diffuser to release a delightful mist into the room. You can also prepare a spa-style bubble bath by diluting a few drops of essential oil in a tablespoon of sweet almond oil or any oil of your choice and adding it to the bathwater.
Attract your loved one by creating an irresistible fragrance:
Instructions:
Use a 5ml atomizer or a 10ml rollerball glass bottle and fill it with jojoba oil, then add 10 drops of the Jasmine Absolute blend.
Or go big and surprise your loved one with Rose Absolute oil bath bombs:
Handmade Rose Bath Bombs
These DIY bath bombs transform your bath into a luxurious spa-style experience. They are perfect for Valentine's Day or as a gift for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 cup baking soda
- ½ cup citric acid
- 2 tsp liquid coconut oil
- ¾ tsp water
- 16 drops Rose Absolute oil
- 6 drops ylang-ylang oil
- A small spray bottle filled with water
- Soap molds, silicone molds, or mini muffin molds
- Optional: dried flowers or herbs
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients: cornstarch, baking soda, citric acid (and dried flowers or herbs, if applicable), breaking up any clumps.
- In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: liquid coconut oil, water, and essential oils.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix well. The mixture should have the consistency of fine, damp sand when pressed in the palm of your hand. (TIP: If the mixture crumbles too easily, use a spray bottle to gradually add a little water until you achieve the desired consistency.)
- If using dried flowers or herbs, place them at the bottom of each mold.
- Fill each mold with the damp powder mixture and press it firmly.
- Let the contents of the molds dry and harden until the next day before unmolding.
- For a scented and soothing spa-style experience, add a bath bomb to your bathwater, or give them as gifts!
