Mother Tinctures (0)

A mother tincture is a hydro-alcoholic solution derived from a mixture of fresh plants and alcohol. To obtain a mother tincture, the plant must macerate for three weeks in pure grain alcohol between 60° and 95°. This mixture must be stirred regularly away from light so that the liquid absorbs the active ingredients of the plant used. It is then filtered, retaining only the liquid solution. Mother tincture is the basis of most homeopathic medicines and is regularly used in phytotherapy.
