Candidiasis ⁽⁷⁾

Candida (Candida albicans) is a type of yeast found naturally on our skin and inside the body, including the mouth, throat, gastrointestinal tract, and genitals.

When present in small amounts, Candida is perfectly natural and harmless.

However, when our gut microbiome becomes imbalanced due to infections, poor diet, stress, or antibiotic use, our good bacteria are depleted. As a result, the exact environment in which opportunistic Candida thrives, exists, and leads to Candida overgrowth, or candidiasis.
