Are you among the many Canadians who suffer from a lack of quality sleep? A recent Canadian study showed that 55% of women and 43% of men between 18 and 49 years old experience sleep problems.1 Melatonin is a supplement that can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer to start the next day well.

Melatonin is a hormone that helps the body prepare for sleep. It is produced by the pineal gland located in the brain. Due to the many challenges of modern life, many people do not produce enough melatonin.

  • Aging – As humans age, the brain naturally produces less melatonin. Also, aging leads to the production of melatonin late at night and, consequently, delays sleep.
  • Excessive stress – When stress levels are high, cortisol – the stress hormone – is also high. High cortisol can impair melatonin production.
  • Light exposure – Melatonin production is interrupted by light exposure. Due to the increased amount of light we are exposed to because of the increased use of electronic devices and LED bulbs, melatonin deficiency is becoming more and more common.
  • Sleep disorders – Anything that can interrupt normal sleep structure, including shift work, jet lag, excess caffeine or sugar, and late nights can lead to insufficient melatonin production.

Melatonin supplementation has been clinically proven as an effective way to help alleviate sleep problems. However, obtaining the appropriate amount and formula of melatonin is not simple.

Thanks to Health First®'s new Melatonin Supreme™ product, you get the highest quality melatonin in a formula designed to mimic the natural melatonin intake during sleep.

MelaPure Melatonin: Melatonin Supreme™ uses the highest quality melatonin available. The product is manufactured in Italy using a patented process. MelaPure™ melatonin is USP grade, meaning it meets the strict requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia.

Recent laboratory analyses of melatonin supplements on the Canadian market, conducted by the University of Guelph in Ontario, revealed serious concerns about potency levels and impurities. Many of the supplements contained much less or much more than the claimed melatonin content. Alarmingly, over a quarter of the melatonin supplements tested in Canada contained unlabeled serotonin hormone – a controlled substance in Canada that can lead to severe side effects if taken in high doses.

Given that many melatonin supplements come from animal pineal glands in China, the risk of impurities is high. The need to use pure, quality melatonin like MelaPure™ is essential for product safety and efficacy.

Controlled Release – Many of the most positive clinical studies on melatonin and improvements in sleep structure have been conducted using controlled-release formulas. Health First®'s Melatonin Supreme™ is a controlled-release formula that diffuses its active melatonin ingredient over a period of 6 to 8 hours, the normal and healthy sleep period for humans.

Melatonin in non-controlled release formulas is absorbed and metabolized within 60 minutes – effective for promoting sleep, but not optimal for staying asleep. Melatonin Supreme™'s controlled-release formula helps users fall asleep faster and sleep through the night.

Melatonin Supreme™ contains 3 mg of melatonin per tablet. The use of large amounts of melatonin is not necessary. Science indicates that the brain responds very well to melatonin supplementation at the beginning of the night, even at low doses.

Numerous studies have confirmed that taking at least 2 mg of melatonin in a controlled-release formula is effective for falling asleep and improving sleep quality without side effects on next-day activities and without dependency issues.2,3,

If you are looking for quality, sustained, and deep sleep, now is the time to try Melatonin Supreme™.
