Une digestion saine

During the holiday season, are you more concerned about the comfort your clothes will provide after eating than about their fashionability? Whether it's because you've overeaten, eaten unfamiliar foods, talked while eating, consumed fizzy drinks, or don't produce enough digestive enzymes, here are some tips for healthy digestion.

Chew Your Food Thoroughly

Many people suffer from poor digestion simply because they don't chew their food enough. How many of us are so hungry or distracted by TV that we just swallow food without chewing? We should chew food until it becomes a soft paste. So, slow down and savor your food for healthy digestion; your gut will thank you for it.

Eat Good Foods

Make a habit of eating whole, unprocessed, and preferably organic foods; your digestion will improve. Processed and refined foods lack several essential nutrients our bodies need to produce digestive enzymes. They can also contain chemicals and ingredients that our bodies struggle to break down.

Drink Clean Water

Since our body is mostly water, we need to make sure we drink enough pure, clean water every day. This doesn't mean coffee or sodas; it means water! To determine how much water you should drink daily, take your weight in pounds and divide it by two. The result is the amount of water in ounces you need each day. Water is essential to keep the digestion process at its best, and it's naturally detoxifying. However, limit the amount of water or other liquids you drink with your meals, as beverages can hinder digestion.

Control Your Portions

Our bodies were not designed to digest the enormous quantities of food we consume nowadays. Portion control is essential; just because your plate is full doesn't mean you have to eat it all at once. Consider the amount of food you put on your plate and remember that smaller, more frequent meals are easier to digest.

Avoid Overeating

When it comes to hunger, there's a hormone that helps regulate satiety. Fiber increases the production and prolonged activity of this hormone. So, eating a substantial meal of high-fiber vegetables and some protein will ensure you don't overindulge. Fiber also makes you feel full longer, and without calories, which is also good for your waistline!

Make Smart Choices!

If you're going to a party, don't starve yourself all day just to overindulge later. Choose your treats wisely, pick two or three things you love, and savor them. And for heaven's sake, don't stand next to the buffet!

Take Digestive Enzymes

Gas, bloating, burping, heartburn, and constipation are symptoms of indigestion. Digestive enzymes help break down the bonds that hold nutrients together so our bodies can absorb them. Taking digestive enzymes with each meal can help ensure our bodies have the necessary tools to break down food properly. These RenewLife products are excellent for promoting healthy digestion.

  • DigestMORE is a powerful blend of digestive enzymes that helps properly break down food so it can be used by the body. DigestMORE contains botanicals that help soothe and repair damage that may exist in the intestinal tract due to years of poor digestion.
  • DigestMORE HCl is perfect for people suffering from heartburn caused by a lack of stomach acid. In addition to digestive enzymes, the formula also contains hydrochloric acid, which helps combat acid reflux associated with heartburn.
  • DigestMORE ULTRA is a therapeutic-grade enzyme formula designed for individuals with chronic daily digestive issues. These issues include gas, bloating, stomach upset, burping, or regurgitation after eating, regardless of the type of food.

A healthy and efficient digestive system is essential for optimal health. Taking a few small precautions can help you eat, drink, AND be healthy during the holiday season!
